WordPress + AI Stack Architecture
I architect WordPress sites that do not crumble under traffic, schema, or AI integrations. After running my own waseemnasir.com on a custom v3.8.1 theme with a companion plugin, shipping the WP REST control system that kills theme ZIP uploads, and building dual mode WordPress themes for clients across healthcare, real estate, and education, I take WordPress builds seriously. The CMS is fine. Most builds are not.
What this is
An architecture engagement, not a hands on build. I look at your goals (traffic, leads, AEO, AI integration, content velocity), audit your current setup if any, and produce a written architecture: theme strategy, plugin shortlist, hosting choice, performance budget, schema plan, AI content layer, and a build roadmap your team or your dev shop can execute against.
Who it is for
- Founders about to commit to a WordPress build and wanting a senior to set the stack first
- Companies stuck on a slow, plugin heavy WordPress site that needs a rebuild path, not another patch
- Agencies who want a senior architect to draft the build before their team executes
What you get
- Written architecture document (Notion or Google Doc) covering theme, plugins, hosting, CDN, caching, schema, security, AEO, and AI content layer
- A prioritised build roadmap with effort estimates per phase
- Plugin shortlist with rationale and licensing cost roll up
- Performance budget (Core Web Vitals targets) and hosting recommendation
- Two 60 minute review calls (one mid engagement, one on delivery)
- 14 days of email follow up after delivery
How it works
- Kickoff call (60 minutes) to map current state, goals, team, and timeline
- I audit current site if it exists, benchmark performance, and review your content workflow
- I draft the architecture document with options and trade offs
- Review call, you push back, I revise
- Final architecture plus build roadmap delivered
Founder proof
I run waseemnasir.com on a custom theme (v3.8.1) plus companion plugin (v1.1.1) that I authored end to end. I built the WP REST control system, a split companion plugin pattern with HMAC plus replay auth and 20 endpoints each, that kills theme ZIP uploads for good. I shipped a dual mode WordPress theme for hepatologia (159 KB, photo compressed 95 percent, full audit pass). I have shipped WordPress sites for clinical leads, wedding services, surgeons, and wellness brands. I know the trap doors.
Pricing
Founder rate is 2,000 USD for the architecture engagement. Larger sites (e commerce with 10k+ products, multi site, multilingual) scale to 4,000 USD. Half upfront, half on delivery. Typical timeline is 2 to 3 weeks.
FAQ
Will you also build the site?
Sometimes. If the architecture and your timeline fit, I can either lead the build with my team or hand off to your developers. The architecture engagement is sold separately so the diagnosis is honest.
What about page builders like Elementor or Bricks?
I have shipped on both. Bricks is faster and cleaner. Elementor wins on team familiarity. I recommend based on your team, not on hype.
Headless WordPress, yes or no?
Sometimes. Headless makes sense if you have a strong React or Next.js team and a real performance ceiling. For most sites, classic WordPress with proper hosting and caching beats headless on cost and speed of iteration.
How do you handle AI content workflows?
I include an AI content layer in every architecture: how content gets drafted, edited, schema marked, and published. Usually n8n plus Claude plus an editor in the loop. Never a one click slop pipeline.
What hosts do you recommend?
For most clients, Hostinger Cloud or Cloudways DigitalOcean. For high traffic, WP Engine or Kinsta. For specific stacks, a VPS with Cloudflare in front. The architecture document covers the full reasoning.
