A Quarterly on Systems, Automation & the Production Life

The Cover Story · Automation

The Nomad Who Automates His Way Across Asia.

Waseem Nasir builds AI systems that run businesses while their founders sleep. We profiled him at his workspace in Bali.

The first thing you notice about Waseem Nasir's workspace is that it is almost entirely absent. A laptop on a teakwood table. A pour-over kettle. A notebook whose margins bear the compressed shorthand of someone who has stopped pretending their ideas will survive the week if they are not written down. The second thing is the dashboard on his screen — a living diagram of an n8n workflow, orange nodes blinking as cron jobs somewhere fire off across four continents.

He has been doing this, in some form, since 2019. The work has shifted — from WordPress builds for Pakistani clients, to meta-ads funnels for Midwestern dentists, to a present practice that reads less like freelancing and more like small-batch industrial design. His clients call him an architect. His systems call him a trigger.

What he builds is boring in the way that electricity is boring. A dealership in Karachi qualifies every Instagram lead through a GPT-4o chatbot before a salesperson picks up. A content brand ranks in ChatGPT citations at roughly thirty cents a run. A mobile-restroom startup in New York takes WhatsApp bookings at a price point its founder describes, unprompted, as "concert-ticket money." None of these systems exist in a deck. All of them are in production.

When asked what separates his work from the template-selling industry that increasingly surrounds it, Nasir is brief. "Templates decay. Systems compound." He says this the way one says the sky is blue.

Correspondence · Letters to the Editor

Answered from the editor's desk. The recurring questions, in order of frequency.

How fast can you ship?

Single automation: 2–3 weeks. Full system or MVP: 4–8 weeks. Audits: 5 business days.

Do you work with non-technical founders?

Most clients are. I translate business problems into systems and hand back docs anyone can read.

What if I already use Zapier or Make?

I can extend your current stack or migrate you to n8n — self-hosted means no per-task billing as you scale.

Where are you based?

Pakistani by origin, currently writing from Bali. Async-first across ASEAN, US, UK, EU, and AU.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Every build is backed by a 14-day stabilization window. Unused retainer hours roll into credit.
